An Update from Lucas and Sam

Congratulations to our most recent Merit Certificate winners, Franchesca, Gadin, Kent and Julea. Your efforts in Room 26 are marvellous.

In Science this term, we have been learning about Forces. We had a fun time learning about Electrostatic Force, as you can see!

Out the front of the class, we have been planting some sweet peas. We were investigating how different types of fertilizer would change the rate that the plants grew. Throughout the investigation, we continually monitored the weather, how often they were watered and any changes we could observe.

Congratulations to the people who are reading and completing quizzes, achieving their Literacy Pro goals and helping us improve our class totals for the competition.

This week for homework, students are asked to start to research Parachutes in preparation for their STEM project that will be completed in class, over the next two weeks. Students need to research how Parachutes work and the Forces involved. Students need to identify the different parts that make up a Parachute, so they are ready to design and create their own.

Can students please bring in, any suitable materials they may wish to use for their Parachute, such as string, wool, fabric, tissue paper, plastic and a small character they could send on the flight.

Don’t forget to complete your talk homework each week for writing.
